Madness Central has news in from our friends at DeafSchoolMusic.com. This weekend members of Deaf School play a charity gig with members of Roxy Music and Suggs of Madness.
What a stellar line-up for a one-off west country charity gig!
Andy Mackay, the sax player from Roxy Music arranged a charity gig in Devon featuring himself and fellow Roxy legends Phil Manzanera (guitar) and Paul Thompson (drums) along with Deaf School legends Miss Bette Bright, Enrico Cadillac Jr and Sir Clive Langer as well as Madness legend Suggs. That’s a lot of legends!
Sir Clive commented: “Half of Deaf School play with half of Roxy Music plus the added bonus of Suggs from Madness. It’s a dream come true for us to be playing with our heroes, and probably the single most influential band in the formative years of DS!”.
The gig, at a small intimate venue, was fully subscribed before tickets could be made available, so unfortunately there are none for sale, but photos are promised and will be published here!
