Madness Central Interactive  Special Feature - The Dangermen Five Year Anniversary Contest
The Dangermen Five Year Anniversary Contest
Courtesy of Madness Central

Welcome to the latest Madness Central Contest, this time for out of print recordings from the Dangermen era of Madness..

Who are the Dangermen? Madness. In fact, the only difference between the Dangermen and Madness is they're the same band. That, and the Dangermen were a covers band, doing ska renditions of songs from Motown to classic reggae and all manners and modes betwixt.

It was five years ago that Madness committed to studio recording what they'd been threatening since the 80s, and that was to do an entire album of cover versions. The Dangermen, who made their first appearence at the famed Dublin Castle, the venue where Madness played many of their initial gigs that brought them to eventual-international fame, brought that musical threat to fruition in 2005.

Five years! For this five year anniversary of Madness' ska extravaganza, Madness Central is pleased to bring you a selection of vinyl and cd pressings from the band's time as the Dangermen. There are three prizes for this contest, one prize for each of three lucky winners. Up for grabs are a Jump Up Records 12" vinyl picture disc of the Dangermen Volume 1 album, a 7" vinyl pressing of the 'Shame & Scandal' single which includes the exclusive dub version of the song as its b-side, and a five track promotional cd which includes V2 contact information stickers on its front.

The rules are simple. Answer the one simple question and send it in with your name and email address and you're entered into the contest. Three winners will be randomly chosen from all entries. One entry per person and per household, please.

Here's how we're going to handle prize distribution: The first name out of the hat gets their choice of the three prizes. The second name out of the hat gets their choice of the remaining two prizes. The third name out of the hat gets the final prize available.

Five years! Can it really be five years since this album came out? Five years!

Please Note: To prevent multiple entries being submitted by any one person your IP address is temporarily logged when sending answers.

Including your name and email address allows us to contact you if you are drawn as the winner.
