Madness - Electric Picnic, Stradbally, Ireland - 5th September 2009
Camden Town Ska came to Stradbally Saturdady night when Suggs and Co. took to the Main Stage and wowed the ten thousand-strong crowd who braved the rain and mud to be there.
Reported by the Independent (Ireland): Madness rocked the Picnic with a set that leaned heavily on their latest, well-regarded album, 'The Liberty of Norton Folgate'. But Suggs and friends were only too happy to delve into their rich past, too, and the hits came thick and fast with 'Baggy Trousers', an exceptional 'House of Fun' and 'My Girl'.
Best of the lot was a gorgeous rendition of 'It Must Be Love' -- probably the most life-affirming moment of the entire festival.
RTE 2fm broadcast and recorded Madness' performance and shared three multi-song tracks, highlights of the night's festivities. These are included in posted zip file.
